Watzmann Überschreitung/Watzmann Traverse

Im Watzmannhaus machte sich nach dem Abendessen Unruhe breit, vom Hocheck sollte eine Frau geborgen werden. Das Flugwetter war schlecht. Der Heli musste warten und nach dem er zwei Bergrettungsteams bis an die Wolkengrenze geflogen hatte wieder abziehen, weil es bereits dunkel wurde.
After dinner disturbance was spreading around at the Watzmannhaus, we heard that a woman needed to get rescued from the Hocheck. The flight weather was bad, so the helicopter was on hold next to the Watzmannhaus. After they flighted two rescue teams closer to the cloudy peak section they had to leave cause it got already dark.
Während der Trupp die zu Rettende talwärts brachte, schliefen wir längst schon tief und fest. Morgen wollten wir früh raus.
While the rescue team saved the woman and brought her downwards, we were already sleeping. We wanted to get up early tomorrow.
It was still dark when we left the Watzmannhaus
Es war noch finster, als wir das Watzmannhaus hinter uns ließen. Und als uns die ersten spärlichen Sonnenstrahlen wärmten, waren wir schon auf halben Weg zum Hocheck. Die Biwakschachtel dort nutzten wir für ein ausgiebiges Frühstück.
It was still dark when we left the Watzmannhaus behind us. As the first few warm sun rays came out, we already made half way up to the Hocheck summit.
Von nun an ging es teils versichert, teils unversichert den Grat entlang bis zur Mittelspitze, dem höchsten Gipfel des Watzmann Gebirgsstocks (2713m).
From there directly at the crest, with some steel cable sections to click on, to the Mittelspitze, the highest summit of the Watzmann massif.
