Kurztrips/ Short tips 2017

Meist waren dabei auch Berge, wandern oder klettern mit im Spiel 😉 . Salzburg (gleich2x), Hallein, Graz, Krk, Innsbruck und diverse 2 und 3 Tages Bergtouren.

Vielen lieben Dank, an alle, die ich auf den Trips begleiten durfte und an die vielen netten Menschen, denen ich begegnet bin.

Mostly combined with mountains, hiking or climbing 😉 . Salzburg (2 times), Hallein, Graz, Krk, Innsbruck and some two and three-day mountain hiking tours.

Berge/ mountains 2017

Heuer habe ich sehr viel Zeit damit verbracht Berge rauf und runter zu klettern. Daran wird sich im nächsten Jahr nicht viel ändern, dürfte eine Art Virus sein 😉 . Am Gipfel stehend mit einer Brise Wind im Gesicht, fühlt sich das Leben richtig echt an. Und irgendwie sind dann auch die Probleme und Unwichtigkeiten des Alltags so klein wie die Häuser im Tal. Manchmal muss man Pläne abändern und improvisieren …  aber so ist es nunmal in der Natur, wie im Leben.

This year I spent a lot of time hiking or climbing up and down mountains. I don´t think this will change next year, it´s kind of a virus 😉 . When you are standing on a summit with a light breeze in your face, life feels so real. And somehow all those everyday problems are small like the tiny houses deep down at the valley . Sometimes you have to change plans and make decisions, but that´s nature, that´s life.

Abenteuer/ adventure 2017

2015 wuchs in mir die Idee eines von Küste zu Küste Trips quer durch Island heran. Als ich dann im November 2015 meine Hasselblad per Schultertasche durch New York schleppte, waren meine Knie gar nicht begeistert, speziell mein rechtes. Somit verschwanden meine Islandpläne erst mal wieder in der Schublade.

Im Februar 2017 wurde dann Flug gebucht, von nun an gab es kein zurück mehr. Wir waren fest entschlossen, Island zu Fuß zu durchqueren. Bis jetzt eines meiner größten Abenteuer. Hart erkämpft mit viel Schmerz, und trotzdem eine großartige Erfahrung, die man sich mit Geld nicht kaufen kann. Manchmal fragen mich Leute, ob ichs noch mal machen würde… JA, mit Sicherheit!

2015 an idea was growing inside my head, the idea of an Iceland coast to coast trip was born. In November 2015 I dragged my Hasselblad across New York with my shoulder bag, what was pretty bad for my knees, especially my right one. So my Iceland plans were put on hold.

In February 2017, we booked the flight, it was fixed… we are decided to cross Iceland on foot in summer. This was one of the greatest adventures I ever did. It was hard work laced with a lot of pain, but a great experience that you cannot buy with money. Sometimes people ask me, would you do it again… YES, for sure!

Wien/ Vienna 2017

Auch wenns heuer ein paar Wienbilder weniger als üblich gab, ist Wien nach wie vor meine “Homebase”. Vielleicht werd ich im nächsten Jahr wieder öfters mal auf Stadterkundungstour gehen.

I showed a bit less Viennese pics than in the past, this year. However, Vienna is still my home base. I think I will explore the city more often next year.

Equipment 2017

Nach dem das ganze Ultraleicht-Outdoorzeug für Island eine ganze Menge gekostet hat, habe ich mir für heuer ein Fotoausrüstung-kauf-stopp auferlegt. Hmm… das Jahr ist ja eh schon fast aus 😉 .

After spending a lot of money for light weight outdoor stuff for the Iceland trip, I decided to not buy any cameras or equipment this year. Well but 2017 is nearly over 😉 .

Ausblicke/preview 2018

Vielleicht beschäftige ich mich wieder ein wenig mehr mit Portraitfotografie, mit Sicherheit aber mehr Schwarz/Weiß, ich werde wieder viel in den Bergen unterwegs sein und das eine oder andere Abenteuer schwirrt auch schon in meinem Kopf herum…

Maybe try to do a bit more portrait photography, but I will definitely use more B/W film, I think I will spend a lot of time in the mountains like this year and there are one or two adventures already bustling in my mind…
